Guiding Good Choices

Every child deserves a healthy future, every parent needs the skills to make it possible.

Parents, Do you want to prevent substance abuse among teens by learning effective management and communication skills before your children enter adolescence?

Guiding Good Choices is the program that can help parents:

  • Increase the likelihood that their child will remain drug free
  • Reduce alcohol and marijuana use among their children
  • Reduce the chances that their child will progress to more serious substance abuse
  • YOU SHOULD ATTEND IF YOU FIT ONE OF THESE DESCRIPTIONS:

  • You are a parent or guardian of children in Middle School
  • You are a parent or guardian who loves your child
  • You are a parent or guardian who wants your child to be alcohol or drug free
  • You are a parent or guardian who wants to bond with your family more
  • Your child is experiencing transitions, (new school, etc.)
  • What does Guiding Good Choices Cover?

    Through a series of 5 fun, informative, 2 hour interactive workshops, parents will learn more about researched and effective parenting skills including how to hold effective family meetings.

    Getting Started: How to prevent drug use in the family.

    Setting Guidelines: How to develop healthy beliefs and clear standards

    Avoid Trouble: How to say no to drugs (Kids are invited to attend)

    Managing Conflict: How to Control and express your anger constructively

    Involve Everyone: Exploring children’s roles in the family
