SUPER Education Program

SUPER (Substance Use Prevention Education Resource) is a six hour education program. Adolescents and their parent(s) attend together. Approximately 30 days after the completion of the SUPER program, the adolescent and their parent must also complete a final interview with the SUPER facilitator.

What is covered in the education portion of the SUPER program?

  1. Basic Information on Alcohol and Other Drugs, including:
    • Information on Binge Drinking
    • Information on Alcoholism and Addiction
    • Information on Other Drugs
    • Information on Legal Consequences
  2. Techniques to Improve Family Communication
  3. Information on Developmental Assets
  4. Developing Family Rules and Consequences

What happens at the final interview?

Families will schedule an appointment with their SUPER facilitator approximately 30 days after the completion of the SUPER program. This interview gives the facilitator an opportunity to follow up with the family and check on their progress since their completion of the SUPER program.
